Salimetrics’ Swab Method Participant Sampling Packs (PSPs) are customized for your study, assembled using the Salimetrics Oral, Children’s or Infant Swabs, with analyte-validated Swab Storage Tubes. These PSPs are based on best practices developed over 10,000 studies, allowing participants to collect up to 2 mL of saliva while reducing mess and improving compliance. Organizing your sample collection before you start increases the likelihood of participant compliance; obtaining, reliable high-quality samples; and creating a cleaner data set for your research study data. You don’t need to spend the time and energy sorting, labeling and organizing your individual collection devices. Each Participant Sampling Pack is pre-assembled for your protocol, making it simple for participants to collect samples correctly and your team to store them efficiently.

This complete participant saliva collection kit comes ready to use in the field or on-site. The volume of sample recovered typically varies between 200-1000 µL depending on an individual’s salivary flow rate, hydration status, mucus content, and the application of stimulus. View the specifications below for a list of analytes approved to be collected with the SOS. If your analyte is not listed, we recommend collecting with the passive drool method. However, a pilot study may reveal a high correlation in your subject group, which will enable you to utilize this method effectively.
