Dried Blood Spot (DBS) Collection Method Step-by-Step Outline:

1. Open the DBS collection kit pouch and lay out all materials needed for sample collection.
2. Wash and dry your hands, then clean the tip of your middle or ring finger with the provided alcohol swab.
3. Activate the lancet and gently pierce the side of your fingertip to begin the blood draw.
4. Wipe away the first drop of blood, then apply the subsequent drops to the designated sample circles on the DBS card, as instructed by your study instructions.
5. Clean and bandage fingertip, then discard lancet device.
6. Allow the DBS card to air-dry for 2–4 hours in a clean, safe location.
7. Close the DBS card cover and place it in the provided storage bag with the desiccant. Seal the bag completely to protect the sample from moisture.
8. Return samples following your study’s instructions.
